Georgia 30 Hour Driver Education Course (Curriculum)

Course Overview:

The main objective of the Georgia 30 Hours Online Driver’s Education Course is to provide the knowledge and skills required for novice drivers to effectively undertake basic maneuvering and space management tasks, and make appropriate, well-thought out responsible decisions in response to observed hazards, as well as to the everyday traffic environment that a driver has to face in his or her daily commute. The course discusses the responsibilities of a driver, and the requirements of Georgia vehicle licensing system, including the relevant traffic laws and rules of the road.
At the end of this 30-hour driver’s education program, the novice driver should be capable of:

1. Demonstrating a working knowledge of the standard operating procedures for a motor vehicle;

2. Understanding Georgia’s Laws and Regulations pertaining to the use and operation of a motor vehicle, including Georgia’s vehicle and drivers licensing system;

3. Understanding the effects of natural laws on a vehicle, and how forces affect their driving in a crash, and the effects of momentum, gravity, and inertia on vehicle control and balance, and the relationship between kinetic energy and force of impact;

4. Searching visually to obtain appropriate information in order to make reduced-risk decisions about driving maneuvers;

5. Managing effectively the space around the vehicle, by either reducing speed or maneuvering the vehicle so as to reduce risk or avoid collisions;

6. Interacting with other users of the roadways in a responsible and morally correct manner;

7. Driving safely in different environment, and in different weather and road conditions;

8. Ensuring oneself and others’ safety by enforcing the use of occupant restraint system and other safety devices in the vehicle;

9. Understanding the physical and psychological conditions affecting driver performance; and

10. understanding the need and seriousness to undertake supervised training session with a licensed parent/guardian/mentor in order to develop in a precise manner the skills and knowledge required for safe driving.

Joshua's Law Overview:

Because of an over representation of teen drivers in automobile crashes, the State of Georgia passed Joshua’s Law in 2005. This law mandates that from 1 January 2007, all teens who are 16-years of age must complete an approved driver education course (classroom or online) and 6 hours of supervised driving with a certified driving school, or complete a total of 40 hours of supervised driving with a parent/guardian, 6 hours of which must be at night, with an affidavit from a parent or guardian that these requirements have been met.

Trillium Driving School (License # LDT663) is certified by the Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) in accordance with Georgia Law Title §43-13-1 (The Driver Training School and Commercial Driving Training School License Act). Each instructor is certified by the Georgia Department of Driver Services and have undergone all required background audits as well as all applicable training required to maintain said certification with the Trillium and the Georgia Department of Driver Services.

STUDENT ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student’s successful completion of the above-named course requires each of the following criteria be met:
1. Punctual attendance for ALL scheduled sessions or appointments.***
2. Reasonable attentiveness and participation in ALL classes.
3. Makeup classes for any missed sessions or appointments.***
4. Successfully passing the eClass examination with a grade of at least 70%.

State of Georgia DDS Driving School Return Policy

Per DDS regulations this driver training school will not refund any tuition or part of tuition if the School is ready, willing, and able to fulfill its part of this contract. I understand that if I fail to comply with the terms and conditions of this agreement, I am in breach of contract and the school
will not be under any obligation to fulfill the terms of this contract, and may, at its option, terminate this agreement immediately.

***APPOINTMENT CANCELLATION POLICY***

PLEASE NOTE: Effective July 1st, 2019. In an effort to more effectively manage our behind the wheel appointment scheduling and maximize our availability and effectiveness to all our customers Trillium Driving School will now require a minimum of 6 HOURS notice when cancelling or rescheduling a booked lesson or appointment/time prior to the start time of your behind the wheel lesson or appointment. Failure to do so could result in a $50.00 cancellation charge. This fee is to offset costs related to the additional administrative processes, Dispatch and the Instructor’s time as well as vehicle fuel and/or usage. TDS understandS that emergencies do happen and will be taken into consideration and reviewed on a individual basis but regardless of cause, Trillium Driving School will make every effort to accommodate the necessary rescheduling in that instance. Warranties: Expressed or Implied

It is to be understood and agreed upon that no owner, instructor, or employee of this driver training school shall give the impression directly or implied to a student or parent that upon completion of your Driving Course the student will receive a license to operate a motor vehicle from Driver Services. However, immediately* upon the student’s successful completion of the course as described above, the driver training school agrees to provide certification of said completion to the student.(*eClass students...Please allow up to 24hrs as your certificate will be processed by the system automatically and sent out via email*

Privacy Policy

This driver training school has and will maintain for the protection of the privacy and contractual rights of the student a performance bond in the
principal sum of ten thousand ($10,000.00) dollars for the students to be written by a company authorized to do business in the State
of Georgia.
This agreement constitutes the contract between the above-named driver training school and the above-named student and no
verbal statements will be recognized.
